Despite mounting political criticism, Deputy Police Commissioner Eliud Lagat insisted that the ongoing security operation against Transnzoa criminal gangs would proceed as planned.

The operation intensified after the arrests of two close allies of Governor George Natembeya, sparking tensions among local leaders and residents.

Lagat stated that the security agencies’ focus is on restoring peace, combating organized crime, and protecting residents from the region’s growing insecurity.

He warned politicians against interfering with police operations and stressed that the law will apply fairly and firmly to all individuals involved in criminal activity.
