CJ Koome Leads Judiciary in Mourning Magistrate Kivuti
Chief Justice Martha Koome will lead the judiciary in mourning the late Makadara Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti. Today, she, along with JSC commissioners, NCAJ members, judges, judicial officers, staff, and stakeholders, will honor Kivuti’s memory.
Special Event at Makadara Law Courts
A special event will take place at the Makadara Law Courts to mourn and remember Magistrate Kivuti, who tragically lost her life in the line of duty. Similar events will be held at every court station across the country.
Measures to Ensure Officer Safety
The judiciary announced measures to enhance the security of its officers. Chief Justice Koome emphasized that judicial services will no longer be provided in makeshift structures, prioritizing the safety and security of judicial officers.

Resource Allocation Challenges
The CJ expressed regret over the past challenges in securing adequate resources from the Executive and Parliament to upgrade court facilities. Despite repeated requests, sufficient resource allocation has not been forthcoming, hindering the judiciary’s efforts to ensure efficient and safe judicial operations.
