Tension at Moi Primary School as Parents Protest Death of Grade Eight Pupil
Tension gripped Moi Primary and Junior School in Nakuru City after grieving and angry parents wheeled the body of Grade Eight pupil Moses Nyang’au into the school compound, demanding clear answers over the circumstances surrounding his death.
The parents had earlier collected the body from Nakuru Level Five Hospital before staging a dramatic protest at the school. They accused authorities of failing to promptly inform them about what had happened to the pupil and questioned how he died while under the school’s watch.
As emotions ran high, chanting and shouting filled the compound, forcing police officers to intervene. Law enforcement struggled for several minutes to calm the charged crowd as parents insisted on an explanation from school officials and education authorities.
Following heightened tension and concerns over security, police eventually removed the body from the school and transferred it back to the hospital mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
The tragic incident has sparked renewed calls for accountability, transparency, and improved communication between schools, parents, and authorities when emergencies involving learners occur
