A tragic accident involving a bus from Uzima University has resulted in the death of a staff member and injuries to several passengers. The incident occurred on Monday evening along the busy Kisumu-Kakamega highway.

The bus, carrying 17 students and 2 staff members returning from an educational trip in Kakamega, was en route to Kisumu when tragedy struck near the Coptic roundabout. According to initial reports from the police, the driver lost control of the 51-seater bus, causing it to veer off the road and overturn.

Sadly, one female staff member lost her life at the scene of the accident. Another female staff member sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching & Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) for treatment. The driver and seven students, three males, and four females, sustained minor injuries and were treated at a local medical facility before being discharged.
