Two More Suspects Detained in Kware Killings Investigation
Two suspects arrested in connection with the macabre Kware killings arraigned in court July 17, 2024.
Arrest and Possession of Evidence
Police have remanded two additional suspects linked to the gruesome Kware killings, where they discovered dismembered bodies in sacks at a quarry, for 28 days to allow thorough investigation.
Crime Scene Investigation
Recently apprehended Amos Momanyi had in his possession a mobile phone and two Safaricom SIM cards belonging to victim Roselyn Akoth Ogongo. Upon questioning, Momanyi led detectives to Moses Ogembo, from whom he claimed to have purchased the phone.
Discovery of Body Parts
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) informed the court that Momanyi’s rental house in Pipeline Estate is a crucial crime scene yet to be fully documented forensically. They emphasized the need for time to retrieve all evidence and conduct thorough forensic examinations.
Postmortem Findings
DCI reported recovering 13 dismembered female body parts in various stages of decomposition at the Kware dump site between July 11 and July 15, 2024. They transferred the remains to Nairobi Funeral Home, where some families have identified them.
Forensic Analysis and Pending Results
The Chief Government Pathologist conducted postmortems, revealing blunt force trauma as the cause of death. The bodies showed signs of dismemberment, indicating a pattern consistent with serial killings.
Prime Suspect’s Detention
Earlier, authorities arraigned Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the main suspect, and detained him for 30 days. Khalusha claims police coerced him into confessing to the murders of 42 women.
