President William Ruto has appointed Jeremiah Ndambuki Simu as the new chair of the Affordable Housing Board, effective July 5, 2024. This decision marks a significant step in the administration’s efforts to bolster affordable housing initiatives.

In a Gazette Notice issued on July 5, President Ruto specified that Simu’s tenure will last for three years.
Revocation of Previous Appointment
President Ruto also revoked the appointment of Linda Nkatha Gichuiya, who had been appointed just three months ago.
Responsibilities of Jeremiah Ndambuki Simu
Simu will oversee the nationwide development of affordable housing initiatives. He’ll coordinate efforts to ensure effective housing projects implementation.

He will also coordinate the effective utilization of the housing levy in executing these programs.
